I’ve been using Philips Hue bulbs for years, and I won’t use anything else when it comes to home lighting. They have an incredible lifespan and low emissions, and the 1100 lumens model is super vibrant!

Q: Does the Philips Hue bulb require the bridge to use? If I wanted to get started with this bulb, would it be better to pick up this single bulb, or better to look at the "Philips Hue A19 White & Colour LED Starter Kit"? Thanks!

A: When the bulb mentions "bluetooth" such as this one, you can use it with or without the bridge (ie: just with a smartphone), but the range will be more limited. It's best to get a bridge unless you're getting just a couple of bulbs that you plan on controlling close by.
