Philips Avent Airfree Vent Bottle Newborn Gift Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Philips Avent Anti-colic Baby Bottle with AirFree Vent Newborn Gift set through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, I thought the set came with a nice selection of bottles and nipples to get started, and I appreciated that it included everything you’d need right from the beginning. The design feels sturdy, the bottles are easy to assemble and take apart, and they were straightforward to clean, which is always a big plus for busy parents. That said, this set wasn’t the best fit for my baby. The nipples were narrow with a wide base, which made it hard for my baby to get a good grip or consistent latch. Another issue was with the AirFree vent: milk often collected in the bottom section, and because there are only two small holes for it to flow through, the last few drops would get stuck. To get the milk out, I had to rotate the bottle, which ended up disturbing my baby during feedings. In terms of reducing colic or gas, I didn’t notice a big difference compared to other bottles we’ve used. My older kids had no trouble drinking from these bottles, so I do think they may work better for older babies or toddlers who already have a stronger, more established feeding rhythm. What I liked most about the set was how easy it was to clean and how durable the bottles felt. I just wish the nipple shape and vent system worked better for younger babies, especially for mine who struggled with latch and flow.

This set has a great assortment of items to get you started on your bottle feeding journey with your baby. Here’s my impression of each of the included items: Bottles: you get two 4 oz and two 9 oz. The bottles have very clear markings in dark blue for the measurements so you can be sure you are putting in the correct amount of water when mixing formula. There’s also marks for the halfway points between each set of numbers so you can be very precise when measuring. They are easy to assemble and clean, and there aren’t too many pieces to clean when disassembling these bottles. My baby had no issues feeding from these bottles, both with and without the included anti colic vent. Since he doesn’t have colic, and I couldn’t see any difference in using them vs not, I have opted to use the bottles without those vents. However, the bottles for both sizes are very wide which can make it difficult to squeeze in those insulated bottle pouch areas in diaper bags. I have silicone label bands that I got to put on my son’s bottles for daycare and it is a struggle to get them on since they are wider than typical baby bottles. Nipples: there are a total of 6 included. Two size 1 on the 4 oz bottles, three size 2 (2 on the 9oz bottles and one in a baggie) and one size 3 in a baggie. These nipples snap on and off quickly and easily and it’s easy to identify which level you have since the number is written on them several times around the base. Bottle brush: There is a hole so you could hang it if you wanted, but I would rather it had a base so it could stand up when not in use. The bottom part is not the best at cleaning the inside of the nipples- bristles would definitely help. Soothie pacifier: my son refuses to use all pacifiers , so unfortunately I can’t really provide an opinion on this. Overall, this set is a nice choice to either gift to a new mom or utilize for personal use. I think it does provide a good value for what’s included since you are pretty much covered for the first couple months of feedings and I would recommend it to others even with the minor annoyances I mentioned earlier.

My overall impression of the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottle set was disappointing. While the package seemed to promise a comprehensive solution for feeding and soothing, it felt like it fell short of my expectations. The set included the basic components you would expect—bottles, nipples, and caps—but it didn't feel like a complete solution for a new parent. I found myself needing to purchase additional items to address issues that the set was supposed to solve. Unfortunately, the anti-colic features of these bottles did not seem to make a significant difference for my baby. We were struggling with gas and fussiness after feedings, and I was hopeful that the special valve system would alleviate the issue. However, I didn't notice any real improvement in her symptoms. The bottles still seemed to allow a good amount of air to be ingested, leading to continued discomfort for my little one. Cleaning and assembling the bottles proved to be more of a hassle than I anticipated. The anti-colic valve, while intended to be a feature, was a bit of a challenge to get into place correctly. It also has small crevices that were difficult to clean thoroughly with a standard bottle brush, and I was constantly worried about milk residue getting trapped. The overall design felt bulky, and the quality, while not terrible, didn't impress me given the brand's reputation. The one thing I did like about the set was the clear measurement markings on the side of the bottles. They were easy to read, which made it simple to mix formula and keep track of my baby's intake. While this is a small detail, it was the most reliable and functional aspect of the product for me, providing at least one bit of convenience in an otherwise frustrating experience.

It includes multiple bottle sizes, slow-flow nipples, a pacifier, and a cleaning brush — everything you need right out of the box. The anti-colic valve really helps reduce gas and spit-ups, making feedings smoother and more comfortable for baby. All of the parts are designed with busy parents in mind. The bottles have wide necks and simple components, so disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling them is quick and straightforward. Even the brush included in the set is sturdy and perfectly sized for the bottles and nipples. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these Philips Avent anti colic bottles from Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review and they are great! They do truly help with my baby’s gas after feedings. I notice less bubbles in the bottle as the air is diverting through the valve component. I gave 4 stars because the valve sometimes folds a little and you have to adjust it, but other than that it’s worth the 1 extra bottle part for the benefit my baby receives in reducing fussiness and gas!
