Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant is OEM specified. Formulated specifically for metal, tapered pipe thread fittings, it replaces Teflon tape and pipe dopes. Permatex Thread Sealant locks and seals threaded fittings. Cures rapidly to withstand up to 10,000 PSI when assembled. Prevents galling and protects mated threaded areas from rust and corrosion. Contains PTFE.

  • Paste formulation seals larger diameter fittings and won’t run

    Great lube and stop-leak on CO2 Regulator

    Worked well to seal up brass 1/4" NPT threads on my kegerator's CO2 regulator. Threads were a bit marred to begin with, so this is what I needed to fill in those imperfections. I applied it liberally and wiped off the excess with a q-tip after tightening - seals well at 0-50 PSI. Will definitely use this for all my gas and pipe fittings here on out.

    Q: I have a screw that is stripped...that bolts a light into the ceiling...will this hold ???

    • A: Hi Cherry, thanks for your question on Permatex High Performance 565 Thread Sealant. We recommend that you replace the stripped screw with a new one and then apply the Permatex Threadlocker for a secure hold. The thread sealant only seals metal, tapered pipe and threaded fittings to prevent leaks, it is not engineered to secure threaded bolts or screws as a threadlocker does.
