Permatex® Dielectric Tune-Up Grease protects electrical connections, ignition parts and wiring from moisture, salt, dirt and corrosion. It prevents voltage leakage and arcing, resulting in a stronger spark and maximum fire power. It also prevents fusing and tearing of spark plug boots and provides high temperature lubrication on rubber, plastic and ceramic. Dielectric Grease improves electrical connections and extends the service life of bulbs, lamps, switches, rotor caps and terminals.

Q: HVAC actuator usage - Can this grease be used to lubricate the gears and electrical contacts inside an HVAC blend door actuator in a vehicle ? Is this a non-scented grease ?

Q: Can this be used on the ends of a 500W T3 halogen bulb? Does it conduct electricity?
3 years agoA: The grease is not meant to be a conductor, nor is it one. It is specifically used to seal the area from moisture and corrosion.

Q: Dielectric Grease is also supposed to be good for lubricating rubber o-rings in certain plumbing applications. Does this brand do the same?
5 years agoA: Hello, thank you for your question on Permatex Dielectric Grease. Depending on the type of rubber compound that the O-Ring is made from, silicone-based lubricants can be the preferred choice. Permatex Dielectric Grease is a silicone-based lubricant. Not only does it have dielectric properties, it is also recommended for insulating/lubricating the rubber housings of electrical connections. Permatex Dielectric Grease can be used to lubricant rubber O-Rings as well. However, it is recommended to first investigate what compound the O-ring is made from and whether the manufacturer identifies any specifications for lubrication. Thank you.
