Q: Would this work to fill in a deep scratch in my car's interior plastic?
2 years agoA: Hello sidesalad, thank you for your question. This plastic welder can be used to fill and bond many types of plastics including vehicle interior plastic. However, it may be difficult to achieve a visually appealing result. Often, sanding and painting the surface is required to achieve decorative results. Thank you again for your question.

Q: Would this work to weld a hot water bottle cap on ? With re-heating, over time the threads of a hot water bottle will shrink (erosion ?) and cause the hot water bottle to leak at the cap. The rubber bottle is perfectly OK, hate to throw them out .

Permatex Black Plastic Welder is a structural adhesive designed for general purpose bonding of a wide variety of materials and creates a tough and durable bond to most hard and semi-flexible plastics, composites, ceramics, and wood. In your case, we do not recommend using it to repair your plastic hot water bottle cap, as it will be exposed to microwave rays. The threads on the plastic bottle cap eroded due to the repeated exposure to microwave rays which degrades the plastic by releasing the plasticizers in the plastic causing it to breakdown and become weaker.
