Q: Can the spray be applied to the disc brake directly? If not, where is it supposed to be applied to? Thinking to use this on my Schwinn mountain bike because the disc brake is kind of squeaky when it is about to come to a full stop. Pretty sure it is just the rear brake. Someone with expertise please respond ASAP.
9 years agoA: This product, Permatex Disc Break Quiet, is designed to be used on the back side of the disc pad. Do not apply to the side which come in contact with the rotor. Apply a light, even coat to the back side of the disc pad and let dry for a minimum of 10 minutes per coat, then reassemble. Permatex Disc Brake Quiet is specifically formulated to eliminate disc brake squeal, which results from vibration caused by friction forces in the braking system. The product stops brake squeal and chatter by dampening vibration at the caliper/brake pad interface. Provides a tighter fit and allows for easier disassembly.
