A: In general the lime is deemed safe for children or pets. We do recommend that if the customer does have pets that wonder the lawn, they should keep them off the areas where the lime has been spread until the lime absorbs into the soil, either by watering or by rainfall

Q: Could this be used as food-grade calcium carbonate? Or does it have too many toxic impurities? Background information: Limestone is calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate can be added to food for various reasons. In my case, I want to make some calcium-fortified foods (for people who don't eat dairy).
