Q: Website description says "Safe work load of 99lbs". The image shows on the packaging "max 50lbs". Which is accurate for this product?

A: A factor of 2, 3, 4, or 5 is applied to Breaking Strength to arrive at Safe Working Load. 550 usually applies to breaking strength, so that could be a 110 safe working load. For simply tying something down or building a structure from branches, less of a margin is required compared to towing or lifting something. Risk of injury or damage would suggest a cautious factor of at least 5. Stress and damage to fibres increases as you approach the breaking strength, another reason to respect the safe working load.
