Product Details

The Panacea Cedar Bird Feeder with Suet Cages combines functionality and durability to attract a variety of feathered visitors. Constructed from reforested, kiln-dried inland red cedar, this ranch-style feeder is built to last. Its wide opening allows for easy filling without spilling, while its innovative design diverts seed to the feeding area, allowing easy access for birds. The feeder keeps the seed fresh by promoting water drainage and airflow, and the attached suet cages provide additional feeding options, making it a versatile choice for your backyard.

This is a solid and well built bird feeder. I love it and so do the birds. It is easy to refill and the food stays dry.

Bird feeder needs an external pirch

This product was well made, but I had to modify it for larger birds to access the bird feed. The feeder needed a pirch for the birds to land on about an 1 and 1/2 inches out from the base.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: the birds are not coming to this feeder? does it need to be filled to the top? i was wondering is it because they see their reflection in the plastic?

  • A: Thanks for your inquiry, Janice. Your feeder does not have to be continually filled to the top nor will the plexi hinder the birds from visiting. As you probably know, birds are creatures of habit and are sometimes slow to go to new feeders, especially if you have been offering seed in other feeders. It can be for a variety of reasons such as getting used to a new landing pattern or the mechanics of getting out the seed. It is sometimes advised to take down any older feeders until the birds find and use the new feeder. Once they are regularly using the new feeder, existing feeders can go back up. Keep in mind it may several weeks before they find and begin feeding regularly from the feeder, so I would suggest keeping it up and not changing things too quickly. All the best!
