I do not recommend. Mine broke into three pieces while baking in a 375 degree oven. Would have been disastrous had I not noticed right away and turned off the oven.

Q: Are the lids oven safe?

A: No, the lids on the Paderno rectangular dish is plastic and could melt in the oven. The dish itself is good quality, but I am disappointed that the lid does not lock into place. When transporting a full dish I use elastics to keep it in place.

Q: I recently bought the PADERNO Glass Oblong Baking Dish with Lid. I made a lasagna and then I put the lid on to put it in the fridge but it doesnt snap shut- it is loose. Is there a special trick to get it to seal down? Very disappointed

A: I have 2 of these - the first one was so good I bought another... I'm imagining the people who are commenting about the lid being loose aren't familiar with how to put it on properly. It's *really tight* once you put it on. There are slight lips on the ends. 'Hook' one end of the lid under the glass tray at a time - don't try to put the lid straight down on top. Once you 'hook' the first end, pull the second end of the lid flush with the other end of the glass tray. Now *push*. It will *SNAP* on... To make it easier, you can 'flex' the lid up with your fingertips while pushing down with your palms (it will help the second 'lip' of the lid clear the tray and seal shut easier).
