A little (too) firm, that it stays thicker than other comparable knee pillows. Does not dissipate heat or help much nore with coolness as compared to memory foam knee pillows. Maybe a larger person may benefit but found the size and firm shape to hurt the hips more than help. Had really high hopes for this product
