Feels solidly built, but except to sharpen it yourself.

Out of the packaging, the knife feels solidly built. The true, full-tang construction and thick blade stock conveys feelings of confidence, and the rubberized grip creates a tactile bond unlikely to be broken by blood, water, or sweat. The factory edge, however, leaves much to be desired, yet do not despair, there is immense hope for the cutting edge! after an edge reprofile and subsequent sharpening with my 1" × 30" belt sander, followed by a excessive stropping via my 1" × 6" buffing wheel, I'm happy to say that this dandy, little Camillus is officially the sharpest, darndest, hair-popping knife in my entire collection! so IF you actually know how to sharpen, and IF you want a good-quality, yet affordable-price fixed blade knife for your personal use and enjoyment, I'd happily suggest this tasty little unit! I purchased this knife not expecting much. I not only field dressed a buck, skinned, batoned the knife and split the Buck in half. Phenomenal blade for the cost.
