Too big. Too heavy

I’ve used the Stabil-icers -the ones that stretch over your boots - for years. But they don’t have a strap and often fall off. And they wear down quickly so you have to trash them. So I thought I’d try these heavy duty Stabil icers because of the strap and replaceable screws. That was a mistake. First of all, these don’t stretch OVER your boot . The boot has to fit perfectly INTO the cleat. Not every boot will do that. And the cleat is so heavy. It’s not great for city walking. These would work for someone working out in the country. But not for me in the city.

Spokes fall off

I only used them once and 2 of the spikes/screws on the bottom came off! I had to stop to tighten them a few times because they were sticking up and making walking uncomfortable. At some point they came out completely. My cheap ice grips work much better.

Q: How do these fasten to your boot? Is the connection secure?) (The pictures show absolutely nothing about the fastening system.)

A: The devices fasten to the boot with strong nylon and velcro straps. The front strap comes up over the toe of one's boot and connects with a cross strap that comes up from each side near the ball of the foot. Double straps come up from the back of the heal and connect at the front where the ankle and instep meet. So far, they have been very secure on my boots over a 30 minute walk.
