More like an 11 gun safe but I expected that

Says 18 but only holds about 11. It stacks them in rows of 6 and 3 deep but it would be better designed to just stack them along the exterior walls of the safe, leaving room empty in the middle to reach the rifles. In the configuration it is, a rifle with an optic or an RDS takes up way too much room and you have to remove the rifles in the front to get at the rifles in the back. Dollar value and security wise it’s great. Heavy A/F so no one is gonna pick it up and walk away with it let alone loaded with rifles. Plus it can be bolted to the floor.

The doors top left corner doesn’t sit flush like the rest of the door (off by 1/4 inch)
It still closes and locks.
With shelves in place it only holds 6 or 7 long guns.
The safe interior really stinks, looked it up online and might have to take out all the insides and deep clean the mold/ factory smell
No, I do not recommend this product.

Huntshield not 18 gun safe

Great safe, make sure to have a few friend help out to bring it home and get it set up(275lbs).
Needs a few days with the door open to air out the chemical smell from the adhesive and carpet. I have baking soda boxes inside to hopefully remove the smell.
When I opened it up all internals were secure and locked in place, east to set up shelves. Lock works great but it’s only been a few days.

Firearms cabinet, not safe

To make it clear, this is a gun cabinet, not a safe. Basic Canadian firearm storage requirement when storing firearms in the open. As any cabinet of this type, it can be easily accessed with a single blow to the corner with a sledge hammer. It’s a good idea to keep such cabinets well hidden out of sight. For the price you can’t go wrong, as actual firearm safes of this size range from $1999-$3999

Q: Does the depth measurement of 20.25" include the lock face or handle that stick out from the front of the safe?

A: No, this measurement does not include the opening handle, add 2" to include the handle to the 20.25", thus total max is 22.25".

Q: Just installed this safe but had to take door off to move it. Later found two ball bearings in the safe. Would these have come from the hinges ? I can't just drop them back in to see if they fit as I wouldn't be able to get them back out.

A: Not sure, but you could measure the pin length and bearing. Then use a straw or something to measure depth of socket

Q: Anyone know if the vertical divider can be removed by hand or with a screw driver? I’m looking at putting full shelves across the width of the safe all the way up.

Q: A previous answer indicated that the door can be removed but I tried lifting it off the pins when the door was open and this did not work. There is nothing in the manual about removing the door so I was hoping someone knew the trick to taking it off.

A: Hi Dave! The doors on the HuntSheild 18 gun safe can be removed. I find it easiest to do when the door is opened to nearly it’s full extent. Grab the door on each side. Lift up hard, and wiggle the door to allow the hinge to start to separate. They are quiet heavy so it is a bit of a lift. If necessary, try using a board under the door for leverage to pry up. Please make sure the door is held securely for when the pin separates from the hinge and comes free. Again, the door is quite heavy! Best of luck! Tom

A: 2 of the shelves can be adjusted, I currently have 8 long guns, could have more, but if you have them stored with optics etc. this is close to the limit.
