Good sturdy shovel. I wanted a shovel that was capable of scraping the ice off a paved driveway and this shovel did it. It is a bit heavy, but I think that indicates this is a good quality shovel.

Q: can it scrape ice under the snow. Does it scratch cement driveway

A: I find that a steel snow shovel is the only way to remove compacted snow off of smooth concrete. To remove actual ice shovel the snow away and then use a ice chipper/scrapper. some ice melter can help.The cement stands up well if it is in good condition.

A: Hello Techen, The 24in steel shovel is heavier than your traditional poly blades. The shovel is almost double the weight of the plastic version. If you are looking for a metal blade shovel that is lighter, please look at CT# 0596940 (24in Aluminum snow shovel). -Garant GP
