Decent lava rock

I love this bag of lava rocks it really helped improve the performance of my electric grill and helps incinerate grease but I wouldn’t say they reduce flare ups as they definitely have caused flare ups since I have put them in but I don’t mind as the flare ups don’t last long once the grease is burnt away. Now that a relative gave me a brand new gas grill I’ll be buying another bag of this stuff to add to it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Can't see what's in the bag

Unfortunately, you can't see what's in the bag. There are some decent sized rocks, but there are also a lot of small pieces. I also found some rocks that are clearly not lava rock. I have not experienced any rocks exploding yet, but suspect that these are the ones causing the other reviewers problems.

Do the job but beware the fine print! I topped up our fire table and all was good BUT make sure you use a grille over the fire for the first 30 minutes. I didn’t and it dost out several rocks onto the wooden deck, bark mulch flower bed and mist annoyingly our lovely new deck seats. I had to run to get a watering can to extinguish the smoldering rocks and now have a burn into the seat cushion. My bad I should have read all the instructions (even the fine print). My wife was rather unhappy !

Q: I have a fire table and want to add to the smaller lava rocks that came with it, which are mostly under an inch in size. I'm having a hard time finding a matching size. This bag doesn't show whether they're small, medium or large. ??
