Frustrating experience

My local store did not have the product so I was advised to order it from another store in the province. I did so, however only one half of the 2 piece ice chisel arrived. I was able to get a refund after returning the product but it was a frustrating experience. Moreover, the ice chisel was a gift for my son who had been clamoring for it so he ended up being disappointed as well.

Q: How solid is the connection point between the upper and lower section and is there any slop or play at all?

A: Yes,there is a significant amount of play between the I.D of the upper handle portion and the O.D of the lower chisels round rod section. This looseness in fit unfortunately contributes to unwanted vibration and noise in using this chisel. IThis chisel needs to be shimmed to make the fit tigjhter between the two .halves to eliminate /reduce this problem
