Q: There is an extra metal piece in the top of the box (not mentioned in the instructions). What is it used for?
9 years agoA: It’s a bracket to separate the lid from the globe. It raises the lid off the globe about a half inch to let the heat vent.The nut still fits on top and the swinging handle actually goes through a set of holes that are cleverly placed.It’s a good little addition. Helps to avoid cracked glass globes.
