Q: Is this a rod that holds its length? ie. Can I use my existing closet supports? Then lengthen this product to make it fit and hold the existing width?

A: Hello. We do not recommend using this rod without the proper ClosetMaid support brackets. The weight limit is 15 pounds, per linear foot, evenly distributed. Thank you for your inquiry.
