Forgeron Cast Iron Wood Stove, EPA Certified, 95,000 BTU

Awesome stove..it blasts out heat pretty good !!

Very disappointed with Canadian Tire this time around. I purchased the Forgeron wood stove which was listed on their web page as a "cast iron wood stove". I couldn't get to view the stove as there was none on display and the only one left was crated in a trailer out back. After buying the stove an uncrating it at home I discovered it was not a cast iron stove. It was a steel stove with the only cast iron being the legs and the door. On further review i did find under the specifications that the primary metal was listed as steel, but listing it as a cast iron wood stove on the main page was misleading in the least,if not an outright lie. Management offered me no rebate, only the two options of keeping the stove or returning it. A four hundred pound stove is not something you can put in a bag and return the next day. Not to mention the time and effort to uncrate the stove and then recrate it for return. The purchase left with a sour taste in my mouth and a lack of desire to return to that Canadian Tire store again. By the way that same stove was listed on their website the next day as discontinued.

Looks good, heats well BUT the door is so hard to open. The powder coating is horrible and rust is coming through on the top. Legs were scuffed coming out of the crate. Wished we never bought!

I purchased this stove because I needed a larger stove. While is was a little more expensive it was a Canadian made stove.sold at a Canadian store. It looks good have not had a chance to test it yet.

This is the second one of these stoves that I’ve purchased. The first one had the warming oven in the top, this one is just the straight wood stove . They work very well. Plenty of heat and quite conservative with the wood. My only complaint is the fact it came in a sealed crate but it’s missing the chrome coil handle for the draft control to prevent you from burning your fingers when adjusting. I contacted the manufacturer a couple of weeks ago but have heard nothing back from them.
