Spare battery

Bought as spare for the green works push lawn mower I just bought. Image did not match what was on the shelf in the store. As the power rating was the same and interchangeable with the green works battery snow blower I have, it was still acceptable and works well.

Great Battery - would buy larger if I could!

Terrible battery life.

First time used it, the battery died before I was done 3/4 of my driveway. When I tried to recharge it, I got the temperature overload warning light, so I had to wait an hour for the battery to cool off before I could even charge it again. I will use it one more time this season. If it performs the same way, I will return it.

We are sorry to hear the runtime did not meet your expectations. Runtime can vary significantly depending on snow depth, density, and ambient temperature. Heavier or compacted snow increases current draw, which can shorten operating time.
Regarding the temperature warning: lithium-ion batteries include built-in thermal protection. After heavy, especially in cold outdoor conditions followed by indoor charging, the pack may temporarily trigger a temperature delay. Allowing the battery to return to room temperature before charging is recommended and helps protect long-term battery health.
If the battery continues to deliver unusually short runtimes under typical conditions, we encourage you to contact Greenworks Customer Success with your proof of purchase. Our team can help assess whether the battery is functioning within specification or if warranty support is appropriate. Q: Will this 5AH battery work for the 60V 16" bar chain saw? Greg

A: Hello Greg, thank you for your question. Each voltage line (24V, 40V, 60V, and 80V) has a set of tools that are only interchangeable within their own voltage platform. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers, and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another. So, yes this battery will work with your unit. the only exception is our 60V 8Ah battery model 2957102 cannot be used in the following tools: any 60V 12" Snow Shovel, any 60V 22" Snow Blower, any 60V Tiller/Cultivator, or any 60V machine that has a battery port door or lid.

Q: Has this battery been tested in -30°C and damp temperatures? I am wondering how it performs in snowstorms? Thanks.

A: Hello Jonathan1083 - Thank you for the question we're glad you asked. Cold Weather Operation: Lithium Ion batteries can be safely used from temperatures ranging from -17 degrees to 45 degrees Celsius. NOTE: Do not store or charge battery outside. Battery must be charged and stored indoors prior to use of the snow thrower. Battery may not properly start if it’s temperatures is -17˚C or lower. If unit does not start remove battery from snow thrower. Place battery on charger and allow to charge for 10 minutes to allow battery to warm. Remove from charger and install in Snow thrower for use.
