The metal file set is very decent for my tinkering and home projects. The only real downside is that "convenient" carrying pouch... I'm not a big fan of plastic storage like those. Already busted a few hole just adding them in it.

Q: What's the trick to attaching the handles? I see another's mentioned. Must be a way, no? TIA for any help.

A: I can't believe all the wrong answers on here for this product. I learned about file handles in grade school for Pete's sake. All you do is put the file into the handle and tap it on a solid surface (HANDLE side down) a few times. This forces the file snugly into the handle and will not come loose through normal use, if it does then just tap in again.

A: No. These are files - not sharpening tools. However, you can REPROFILE with them, which will leave you with a very rough edge that isn't really very sharp. You would then need to use proper sharpening tools. Wood chisels need to be fairly sharp to be effective. Get some decent sharpening stones or some other kind of sharpening system to go along with these.
