I order to accommodate an array of shaft sizes they put cheep plastic inserts in the center. They dont work. I am able to make the fine grind function but the course grit is beyond fixing. Will return it asap

    Poor Quality Returned it.

Used it for 5 minutes and my shop was full of aluminum oxide dust, 3/8” of material worn off the diameter. Very poor China produced product, The only ones that CT had in stock were produced in China. I understand that folks in China have to scratch a living also but some quality control improvements would go a long way.

Q: What sort of dust mask should be worn when using these wheels? Do you mean respirator?

    1 Answer
    • A: Don't buy this wheel it's to soft for metal. It wore out in one small project and filled the shop with dust everywhere. I think it's junk.

Q: What grit 6” grinding wheel will sharpen a lawn mower blade and grinding some metal

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello Larry, Thank you for your question. Both the medium (80G) and fine (120G) will sharpen a lawn mower blade. However, the fine grinding wheel will offer a smoother cutting edge, where a medium grinding wheel will offer a faster grind for general purpose applications.

Q: whats the grit on these wheels, and can i sharpen knives using them

    1 Answer
    • A: See vendor's response: Our fine wheels are general purpose wheels and have been defined as fine, medium and coarse. They do not have an assigned grit level. In terms of sharpening a knife it depends on the size and edge required – a pair of garden shears – no problem. It would be very difficult to properly sharpen a large knife on such a thin grinding stone. In terms of the edge you would definitely want to use a fine wet stone with oil to sharpen a large knife that you might use in the kitchen
