Honeywell Humidifier

This is my second Honeywell humidifier I've purchased. I have one for upstairs and also the lower level, and covers well the area of one large bedroom and living room. It has a filter which is easily obtainable. The filter is able to help with the extremely hard water in my area which is mostly calcium. It is easy to clean and I replace the filter every year. I have had the Nebulizer type before, however they didn't worlk well for me and left a white residue on my furniture. I also only purchase Honeywell Electric Heaters and fans. Trusted product. This humidifier is quiet on the lower setting for sleep.

I bought this device according to what i saw in the ad. ON the device its stated its the germ free model. When I got it home I noticed it did not have the decal germ free on it. After some research it is stated that this model HEV355C does not come with the UV light and it is the HCM350B. I find this to be false advertising whether it is a mistake or not. I spent good money and feel i was duped by the ad. The device works as expected but the Picture needs to align with the advertised Product. I find this shameful business by Canadian Tire> I have a snapshot of the ad so I would expect the marketing team to change it and say it was not there. But I guess I am being a bit oversensitive now. Other than that the device works as expected. 4 stars because of the picture

Q: can we use HC888 filter on the HEV355C humidifier.

Q: does this have automatic shut off

If the unit runs out of water, the fan will continue to run and dry out the filter, helping to keep it healthy. Q: Is the water from the tank suppose to come out once the screw cap is on the tank. I put the tank into the opening in the base and a lot of water comes out. Is it suppose to do this? water

Q: Is there a mist suppose to be emitted? I have it on level 3 and the water is goi g down but if I place my hand above the fan. It does not feel like there is anything coming though it

  • A: Yes it is working, the water is evaporating into the air, adding moisture. I find mine works exactly like this. I change my filters, if the water is not going down. It means the filter is woren out, and has become hard, with mineral deposits.

Q: How do you clean the fan blades on the HEV-355C humidifier?

  • A: The grill does pop out with great difficulty and some of the snap-on tabs may break. I don't think it was designed to be removable. It snaps back on with some difficulty as well. Eventually it may not fit well. Your choice, I guess.

  • A: It is not the HCM 350. I just bought two of them based on this answer but the answer is wrong. It is actually Model Number HEV 355C which is not the germ free model. I am returning the ones I bought.
