Easy to handle. Soft on paint.

Too soft and gentle to easily remove stuck debris, insects. The glove is rather heavy when it collects water and doesn’t have any interior finger or pads to hold the mitt in place, so it really move around a lot.

Picked-up one of these and it was labeled a mitt, but it was actually a sponge. I liked it enough that I was looking to pick-up more of the sponge version of this mitt, but now only this mitt version of this mitt is available, which looks like it will hold less water, so I switched to the genuine sheepskin wash mitts (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/simoniz-genuine-sheepskin-wash-mitt-1-pc-0397023p.html) and synthetic wool wash mitts (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/simoniz-platinum-synthetic-wool-wash-mitt-grey-1-pc-0397064p.html). Wear insulated paddling gloves or latex gloves to protect hands while washing car. The one thing to watch for is if you're filling a bucket with water using the pressure washer at the coin wash, not to spray directly onto the chenille wash mitt or it will begin to disintegrate. This is my process: 1. Pre-spray car with soapy water. 2. Rinse car with tap water. 3. Pre-spray car again with soapy water. 4. Contact wash using wash mitts and bucket of soapy water. 5. Rinse car with tap water. 6. Dry car with drying towel. 7. Dry wheels and door jambs with microfibre towels. 8. Machine wash cold/ gentle and hang-dry drying towel. 9. Machine wash cold/ gentle and hang-dry mitts and microfibre towels. Mitt holds just enough soapy water to do 1 panel with 1 side of mitt, and another panel with the other side of mitt, and then that mitt is done, never re-dunking mitt in bucket. About the same as the genuine sheepskin wash mitt. 5 or 6 mitts will wash a car this way, without having to re-dunk mitt in bucket, so your soapy water stays clean. For soap, I use Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, which is the same as Autoglym Bodywork Wash & Wax (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/autoglym-bodywork-car-wash-wax-50-washes-1-l-0394539p.html). In the winter I switch to a no-rinse solution, but much prefer the Autoglym soap. The wax in the soap seems to make the car's paint look warmer/ deeper. I then wash these mitts along with microfibre towels, except for drying towel, in cold water/ gentle cycle using dedicated microfibre detergent, then hang to dry. Haven't noticed any scratches or swirling in 1.5 year new paint, and so far haven't seen the need for dedicated mitts for wheels. Also haven't seen need to separate mitts from microfibre towels when washing, although I do keep the drying towel separate. Sometimes I leave the dirty mitts and microfibre towels soaking wet in a bucket, before getting around to washing them, and this seems to be fine. Have to wash car every week or every other week due to dust from parking garage. Might look into getting a car cover to deal with this garage dust, to reduce frequency of washing car.
