Better products for less

It’s an okay at best polisher, for the price you can easily get something that’s far better. It’s very heavy and the grips are awkward not to mention I’ve absolutely shredded my paint a couple times from the backing plate rubbing into it. Not very well designed.

Q: What are the advantages of this model vs the simoniz light duty polisher 039-9013-6

A: After taking a look at both for a few minutes, - the Platinum polisher is noticeably heavier and larger. This might mean faster cutting and less margin for error. - the trigger on the Platinum is variable speed i.e it will run slower when the trigger is pressed halfway. The trigger on the Light polisher is only on/off, though it does have a soft start so you don't sling product all over the place - the speed selector adjustment mechanism on the Platinum goes up and down by 1/2 increments. In contrast the one on the Light polisher doesn't have any clicks, it is infinitely adjustable - However the I found the speed adjustment on the Light polisher to be more sensitive and harder to control, it might just take getting used to. Also it appears when setting it to a higher speed then back to a lower speed, it takes time for the Light polisher to slow back down. The Platinum does not have this problem - the air cooling vents on the Platinum are much larger than the ones on the Light polisher.

Q: Simoniz car polisher 039-6535-2, has 7 speeds. Hoping owner manual would indicate what actual speed is for each dial setting, doesn't. What is the actual speed for each setting ??

A: The speed settings vary but they increase by roughly 400 rpms per speed increase.

Q: After pulling the trigger, the motor will start to run, then cut out briefly, before continuing to run. No matter the speed, it experiences the brief power cut during ramp up. Is this normal behavior?
