J-B Weld Plastic Bonder

Getting the product out of the two tubes is difficult resulting in more coming out than is required. After it has been used once, it becomes more difficult to get the product out. Not worth the cost.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best to slightly pull the plunger back before moving forward to dispense for the best results jbweld

Seemed to be holding well, until it didn’t.

I bought this to repair a broken piece on my camera tripod that prevents the legs from spreading too far apart. When I opened the end of the nozzle, the two components did not come out evenly, in fact the black component squirted out about 1/4” before I even pressed the plunger. I had to discard that but and the start again. I mixed the adhesive, applied it to the damaged part and allowed it to cure for several hours. It dried hard and appeared solid standing up to a pull test. However while using the tripod again the repair separated when it underwent a slight twisting motion when the leg was extended. In the end, I was able to repair it by drilling both parts with a 1/64 drill and securing the two pieces with mechanics wire. I think this would work for repairs of something that is static such as a plastic panel where you can add a bracing layer, but not where you need to butt join two pieces together and they will be subjected to any twisting or bending.

Q: Can I use this to fill in deep scratch on one of my rocker panels that had part of the rubber covering torn/scratched off?

  • A: I don't see why not. It's hard/waterproof ( if applied evenly) but it is an epoxy not liquid metal. Not sure of UV resistance doesn't seem to say? Used mine to fix a plastic Rv tank under a trailer.
