Gas can blues

Here’s the problem. Every summer when temperatures go up, I can smell gas in my garage. I open the gas can and it hisses as air escapes. But the front of the can feels wet, with gasoline. So I apply extreme pressure and screw the cap extremely tight. Days later I have the same problem. Perhaps the cap and washer need to be replaced periodically. We should be warned. I finally dumped all of the gas into my truck and threw the empty gas can out into my garden as I was afraid of spontaneous combustion or sparks, plus who wants gas fumes in their garage. Can’t someone design a better can?

Q: Once you are done with pouring gas, where should we put that yellow nozzle? if we don't put that reverse, gas might leak. If we do, nozzle gets dirty.

A: All Scepter fuel containers are colour coded and marked to indicate to safety personnel the contents of the container and to prevent accidental poistioning. For that reason we do not recommend you use the fuel can for any fuels other than what it was designed to hold.
