    Ideal Extension for Safely Charging a Car Outside While the Charger Stays Inside

    This 25-ft extension cable is an excellent addition to the MotoMaster Simple Series Smart Battery Charger/Maintainer, Fully Automatic, 3‑Amp, 12V. The extra length makes the charger much more practical to use in everyday situations. With the extension, the charger can remain safely inside the garage, protected from weather and moisture, while the car stays parked outside. The cable is thin enough to pass under a closed garage door without any problems. From there, it can easily be routed through the vehicle’s front grille and into the engine bay to connect to the battery. Overall, it’s a very convenient solution, especially since power outlets are often positioned too far away to use a charger comfortably without an extension. If you already use the MotoMaster maintainer, this cable is a simple and worthwhile upgrade that makes the setup far more flexible and user-friendly.

    Q: Does this extention cable work for all makes of solar panels?

    • A: Depends… not every solar panel comes with SAE connectors. Some have MC4, so you’d need to get an adapter. You also need to consider the length, gauge and load on the wire you’re running from the panels to your charge controller to avoid power loss or overheating. I use these extensions when camping for 4x100 watt panels and they work fine, but if you’re installing a residential array I’d do some internet homework on what’s the safest/most efficient gauge you should be using.
