I'm the outdoors kind of guy. I built log cabins, I hunt, I fish, I can track animals and I know wild plants. I've owned expensive brand knives like Spiderco, cold steel, SOG, Ontario, Buck, etc. I saw this knife on sale and looked at the reviews. Looked good, so I bought the last 2. I think it will withstand some abuse and stay sharp with the handle staying firm. I need to get in the woods and give it a real abuse test. But my first impression is definitely positive. I'm even impressed with the gash in my thumb. Lol. This bit me by surprise. (My bad, I was snapping my wrist to flick the blade out. I was careless.) I like how spiderco has the thumb hole to help flick open, this doesn't have that, nor the thumb stud seen in the picture and I got bit flicking it open without it. The grip is sturdy, the blade is sturdy. You can see the nylon washers between the blade and grip, so the gap is slightly larger than an expensive knife, but I still think it will take some abuse before there's any wobble. Very sharp out of the box. Sliced paper thinly as well. (I tested. Sorry no pic/vid). Possibly a 2x15° Scandi grind edge. Essentially a copy of the Gerber Bear Grylls blade. (Sorry. I couldn't find for comparison)

Yes, I recommend this product.

Probably the sharpest out of the box knife I've purchased at CT

This is a great knife, not just a great knife for the money a great knife, and I have several more expensive brand knives. I just picked it up 3 years ago because of the price and I liked the shape, but I didn't expect much from it, but boy was I wrong. This knife is razor sharp out of the box, I mean sharper that the buck and Gerber knives I've purchased from CT over the years, the re-curve blade is amazing for making feather sticks, and because of the excellent grip I actually prefer using it over my survival fixed blade bush craft knife. Now the reviewers focus on more expensive popular knives where outbound is considered a budget brand, but don't let that stop you from buying this knife, it will be great as a utility knife and as a companion knife on the trail.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing "bang for the buck"

I was on the fence about giving it a 5 star rating. In my opinion, ( and I bought two of them), they came "sharpish".. Not razor sharp.. Not by a long shot. But, then again, I probably have higher standards than most for what I consider sharp. A few minutes with my favorite sharpening system ( no, I'm not going to name names), and it would cut slivers off a piece of paper, no problem! I went with a 30 degree angle, as it is supposed to be a camping knife, but I'm sure it would easily hold a narrower angle. It took an edge well, and easily. It's solidly constructed, and the blade is Titanium coated. It feels great in the hand. What more can you ask for at that price point? As it comes out of the package, it's a good / great knife. Properly sharpened, it is amazing.

Yes, I recommend this product.
