While it may not be as slim and flashy looking as some of the other PFD on the market it keeps the kids safe at an affordable price which is great especially if you only visit the water a few times throughout the summer

Q: is this a D.O.T. or Coast Guard approved PFD?

A: sku#079-2049 is ULC approved PFD. Please kindly note that Department of Transport Canada is a government department, ULC is a lab named Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada Inc. which is appointed by Department of Transport Canada to have the vest to be certified under the standard of Personal Buoyant Water Safety Products (CAN/CGSB 65.11-M88). Then you will find there is “ULC” symbol and the approval number of Department of Transport Canada in the marking, this number is given from Department of Transport Canada after ULC finished the testing and confirmed the vest can be certified. Therefore ULC = Underwriter’s Laboratory, Canada, it is an authorized lab to approve PFD by Canada Department of Transport (DOT)., as we have provided prove for the ULC, which also proved the PFD is approved by DOT.
