A beautiful set to look at, but not built to last for real play.

I really wanted to like this set—it looks great, has a solid weight, and at first glance feels like good quality. Unfortunately, durability is a serious issue. The first time I played, one ball cracked completely in half after a normal hit. I returned it to Canadian Tire and got a replacement set. That second set only lasted about two weeks before another ball chipped a large piece off. Bocce is a game where balls will inevitably strike each other, especially if you’re playing with experienced players who throw with some force. A proper set should be able to handle that. Sadly, this one just can’t take the hits.

A: There are two colours only. A total of 4 red and 4 green. However there are two patterns per colour… 2 circles or 2 squares…so you can play two players or four players (teams of two). Teams would recognize their ball by the pattern on it.
