Disappointed after first year.

I have had mine for 3 years now. First year they were great, warm, watertight. Since then, the stitching around the knee patches allows water into the holes where the thread goes through. I have applied fabric seam sealer (like a caulking) that has helped but haven't found all the leaks. I still get wet feet and these things take forever to dry out. Stick with the basic (raincoat material) ones if you only use them periodically like I do for putting in and taking out docks. Wear thermal layers if needed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

These chest waders are great! I have been using them almost daily for weeks now, and they are still like new. The adjustable straps make them easy to fit. The only drawback is that if you are short ( I'm 5'2"), the suspender straps are too long to adjust to help hold the top of the waders up. Otherwise, I'm totally thrilled with the purchase!

Q: I normally buy one size down in waders ... size 9 when normally I buy size 10 in shoes/boots. I’m 170lbs and fit, do the boots fit loose? Would you recommend staying at my normal boot size or buying smaller?

  • A: Size 12 would be the perfect fit for both shoe and top body fit. It's what we got for my son who takes the same size in boot and weighs 195 to 200 lbs

Q: Just bought this waders and it comes with a repair kit for PVC/NYLON what for since this wader are NEOPRENE please explain?

  • A: When I compared the boots to the picture, It seems to be the patch that was supposed to be glued to the butt of the boots. I didn’t use it for anything and my waders are almost 3 now and still leak free

Q: How are online shoppers (such as myself) expected to know what size to order? Some comments mention shoe size while the sizing in the ad makes no reference to shoe size but instead offers (as an example) s, m or Large. Come on CTC, do better!!!

  • A: My pants came with a sheet of material for repairs. If you cannot find that, I would suggest contacting an outdoors store like MEC for repair kits. I believe that a bike tube repair kit would work as well. Hope that helps. Guy

Q: Same question Mike had 8 months ago with no answer... Why are the buckles on the shoulder straps not the same on each side? I bought these waders last week, I have the straps adjusted to max and the right shoulder strap keeps falling off my shoulder.

  • A: The buckles are not the same (one male and one female) so that you can buckle them together to tie them around you (your neck or waist) if you need to lower the pants but don't want the straps to fall on the ground or in the water...

Q: There is two 1ft square pieces of neoprene? in the box with the waders. What is this for? Doesn't seem like a patching material like you would use on rubber.

  • A: The neoprene material is used for packaging purposes – to protect the shoes from squeezing. It is not a patching kit as the wader does not include that.
