This insecticide-miticide contains an active ingredient that’s effective at controlling insect pests – including plant-eating aphids, earwigs, mealybugs, spider mites, and more. Kills insects on contact. For use indoors, outdoors and in greenhouses. Can be used on houseplants as well as edible plants up to and including the day of harvest. Use with the Scotts Dial ‘N Spray Hose-End Sprayer or mix according to label directions and apply with a handheld or backpack sprayer.

Q: Does this work on petunias? The blooms are being destroyed but haven’t seen evidence of budworms.

A: I'm afraid I don't have an answer for petunias and budworms. I purchased this product to deal with mealybugs that started on an indoor jade plant, then had hopped to a philodendron and threatened to move to my other houseplants if nothing was done. I found that spritzing the plants with the product controlled the infestation for only about 2 days, then needed to be repeated. Finally got tired of it all and chucked the infected plants and their soil. Problem solved. In other words, my experience with this product has not been positive. Good luck with the budworms ...

A: Hello! Thanks for your question. Ortho Bug B Gon ECO Insecticidal Soap Concentrate is registered to help control Mealybugs. We recommend mixing 20 mL (4 teaspoons) of the concentrate with 1 liter water (33.814 oz).

Q: I have a SEVERE Box Elder/Maple bug infestation and need an actual effective insecticide concentrate to use with my 4 gallon backpack sprayer. Ready to use insecticide is no good. Does this work on Box Elder/Maple bugs? If not, what will work? Thanks

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. This product is not listed to control Box Elder or Maple Bugs. As there are many different restrictions on the use of insecticides in Canada, we recommend reaching out to your local agriculture authorities. They are knowledgeable about the types of insects in your area and should be able to provide advice as to how to get rid of them. If you are unsure of who to contact in your area, we recommend reaching out to an exterminator for a severe infestation.
