Q: Is this particular blue bin, labelled "Large Blue Box 87L" with a Canadian Tire logo on two opposing sides, acceptable for curbside collection for recycling in Richmond Hill? Asking as a Richmond Hill resident.

A: FREE BLUE BOXES (several sizes) are given by municipalities if you return your broken one to them. If box is commercial (eg from Canadian Tire) you must BUY a replacement from them, but they are much cheaper than stores. The large boxes (87litres, above) are accepted by Richmond Hill

Q: At the bottom where the holes are, there are 4 button snaps per hole. Is there a product that attaches to waterproof the holes? Or is duct tape my best bet

A: The holes in the bottom are drain holes so that the garbage person doesn’t have to pick up a heavy bin filled with water when it’s rained all night. I hope this helps.

Q: Why isn't there a 87L black version? Black bins are used in Ottawa amongst other places, but only the small version is sold in stores. A 87L black recycling bin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Q: Is this Blue Box an Orbis? Does the lid on your website 142-8271-8 fit this box? At my local store, there were lids but they were too small for this size bin.
