    Worked for me

I had one of these for many years before I broke it accidentally. It was awesome. The original hoses weren't great, but I upgraded those. You definitely want the engine (4.3L v6) warm. I found the trick was to squirt oil in the suction hose first and prime the pumping chamber before trying to suck the engine oil out. This unit doesn't like to suck air especially if it is dry so it cant get the pumping started if you dont fill it first. Once you figured that out it works great. Beats hand pumping. Too bad it's discontinued because I really want another one.

    Overpriced and doesn't work

Purchased this over the weekend, no instructions came with it but there was a "make sure oil is warm" direction on the package. Warmed the engine, connected lines (very poor connections) and inserted the line into the dipstick tube. Turned on the power after connecting to 12v battery and it turned on but wouldn't suck any oil. After 5 mins disconnected everything and had to repackage as I will be returning for refund. What a waste of time!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Sub Standard Pump

I bought this pump to change oil in my 4.3 litre boat engine. Had the engine running for at least 15 minutes before to heat the oil up. There was never a full flow in the extraction tube, just spurted the oil into the container. Managed to pump 4 liters or so out but takes about an hour to do that. I would have thought 5 to 10 minutes tops?? Better check my battery also. Might need recharging.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can you use it for automotive engines too? A lot of marine engines are just modified automotive engines (I know, I work for a tier one supplier) so, it would seem that it should also work for auto engines.

Q: can it be used for sucking gas too i want to suck the gas out of my jet ski without taking the tank out

    1 Answer
    • A: No, do not use this Oil Extractor for Gasoline, it connects directly to a 12 volt battery, the possibility of open sparks could be extremely dangerous. Suggest using a manual pump to remove gasoline from the tank for this process.
