New lid design Can Not be opened

Oatey had decided to go to a Child Proof lid that can Not be opened when a drop of glue gets in the threads. Ridiculously major design oversight!!

Q: Do you need to apply a primer first or can you directly use the glue ?

    1 Answer
    • A: I never do, but make sure the area is clean. If you are using it where it’s critical like a sewer system use the primer

Q: Is this suitable for use on hot tub piping?

    1 Answer
    • A: I don't know if that product will work. To be safe I would use a small pot of PVC plumbing cement .

Q: Would this work on fixing a drip coming from a pressurized line? Would not be pressurized while applying.

    1 Answer
    • A: It should. Your best bet is to run some primer around the leaky joint, then glue. If at all possible use suction by taping or capping one end of the line and holding a shop vac to the other end for a few seconds at a time. That'll help draw the primer/glue into the leak.
