Battery exploded
I bought in 2021 so 3 years old. Batteries exploded in tower and acid leaked on floor. I used regularly and only found out that you can buy separately 9 volt 2 amp adapter. I recommend using it rather than batteries. Don’t use both I was told. People selling such expensive machines should have better knowledge of products I was disappointed in the warranty of this item from Nordic track as well.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent rameur! J’avais le même qui m’a duré presque 8 ans. Nous sommes plusieurs à l’utiliser et j’ai racheté le même pour en avoir un deuxième dans mon gym personnel!

Q: My son is 6'4" tall. would this rower accomodate his height?

A: Terri
The maximum length measurement from footrest to the end of the machine is approximately 44 inches. Any leg length below that would comfortably be able to use this rower. Even if someone were to have a leg length slightly beyond this, the optimum use for exercising on a rower is to keep the knees slightly bent and never locked straight. Your son should be able to use this rower nicely.

Q: I have just purchased this rower. I am confused as to its capabilities. There is air resistance. The also box says SMR. What does that mean on this machine? It seems to mean 24 levels of resistance on the nordictrack.ca RW200.

A: Thank you Icon and Mindenshopper for your replies. I have an idea that SMR is magnetic resistance. But this is an air resistance rower. It says SMR on the box. But how does the magnetic resistance figure in on this air resistance rower?
Thanks for your response Boomer, but I am guessing you have the newer version of the RW200. The version I purchased from Canadian Tire does not have 24 levels of selectable magnetic resistance.

Q: How heavy is it. What is the size of the box . Will it fit in my car?

3 Answers
A: I don't recall the details of the weight or size, but the box fit comfortably in the back of a Honda Fit. You have to assemble the unit's large pieces, so I'm guessing that the box length was about 4 feet.

Q: Does this machine easily fold away for daily storage? Or is it more of a "when you need to store it long term, it folds away easily"
3 Answers
A: Yes, I have this same model and it takes up a very small space when its folded. I would say it only needs about 2' x 3'. Its very easy to fold. I have mine in a space with a treadmill and one has to be stored while the other is used and it folds and rolls very easily.

Q: What kind of battery do you need for the fot the nordctracker?
2 Answers
A: You can use a standard adapter and plug it in rather than have to rely on batteries. The adapter doesn’t come with it but they aren’t hard to find. I had one that was not being used from another item and put it to use.

Q: Does the NordicTrack RW200 have the resistance functions? How many resistance functions does it have?

A: It has ten different settings, but honestly I don’t find much difference between them overall. Saying that it is both time and intensity that you can change, so it works fine.

Q: RW200:How do I display date and distance from previous rows?
I'm participating in a row challenge and need to verify my row's date and distance.
Thank you.

A: Hi Jack,
I am unaware of any data storage function on the 200. So I don't see any way to recall previous rows.
For a current row, a photograph of the screen is the only option that comes to my mind. (What are the challenge organizers' advice? You can't be the only participant using the RW200!)
I doubt that the iPad interaction with the RW200 includes an interface with the machine's operating system. If you have an iPad you can test the interaction to see if there is a more direct way to access the machine's data.
Good luck!

Q: Conflicting information. Is this model of the rw 200 rower the one with both magnetic and air resistance? with the 24 resistance levels?
2 Answers
A: That's a very good question, 'Hobo Misfit', and one that is especially relevant for this model. I was researching this product and about to purchase this model on this site until I noticed the difference in the features. NordicTrack significantly upgraded the features of the RW200 model after releasing the initial version of the model, but confusingly kept the model number the same. As a result, buyers need to pay careful attention to the features and console of the model to know which version of the model they are getting. The initial version only has air resistance, and the two large buttons at the bottom of the console adjust the sound volume up and down. The improved version has both air and magnetic resistance, and the two large bottom buttons have been changed to adjust the magnetic resistance up and down (with the words 'Silent Magnetic Resistance' printed between the buttons). Also, the newer version has iFit compatibility, and the console has a large blue 'iFit Sync' icon in the centre (below the LCD display). So if the version being sold does not advertise the features of magnetic resistance and iFit compatibility, and the console doesn't have the large blue iFit icon, then it is the initial version. That is the case for this version of the model, and at the time of writing this answer this version is on sale at 50% off (CDN$499 instead of $999), and I suspect the steep discount is an attempt to clear the inventory of the initial, unimproved version.
