    Stops working after one year

This unit stopped working about a year after purchase. I was able to exchange the first one at Canadian Tire. The second unit I currently have now from the exchange has just stopped working after about a year again. The warranty is void after 1 exchange, so now I'm looking for another humidifier. The unit will not turn on at all when I plug it in. I have done all of the troubleshooting and called the NOMA help line. They said they are unable to replace this one as I have already replaced the first one I had. Decent machine, however I recommend purchasing something else if you would like it to continue to work after a year.

Q: Hi! I've had this product for a few weeks now and it simply will not work. When I turn it on, all I get is "Er" on the panel. The User Manual is absolutely garbage and does not help with troubleshooting any issues... any help would be great.

    • A: 1) For first use the absorption filter is completely dry and water tray empty may cause the overheating safety protection device of the humidifier to activate and Er display. After filling the water tank wait about 50 seconds, the absorption filter has absorbed water, so unplug and plug it in again to enable it to work properly. 2) In the manual for the Self Sanitizing Humidifier, section 06, page 18, address the (Er) error code displayed on the control panel. FAQs- Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why is my humidifier turned off and displayed (Er). A: Please unplug your humidifier. Check and make sure the absorption filter is installed properly. (See the absorption filter page) Section 03 page 13 states it is important to be sure the absorption sleeve is very tight around the heating element for best performance. Page 14 shows the diagram of the correct way the absorption sleeve fits around the heating element. Once the absorption sleeve is on correctly, plug in your humidifier and touch the power button to restart the machine.

Q: Is there zero light on during regular operation? I would like to use it in my bedroom while I sleep but can’t stand to have glowing lights from humidifiers.

    • A: There is a Led  light that stays on at night time. We had covered over the light with protective tape at night. We returned it, and bought a Honeywell 2 speed manual operated fan from Canadian tire. Only a small light on this one, it’s quiet and it works great.

Q: There’s a symbol of a pitcher pouring water that is flashing with the on off button also flashing.  The manual does not specify what the pitcher symbol is for, but I assume it’s to fill the tank. However the tank is full? Unplugging does not fix

Q: My dehumidifier is stuck on low. How can I get it to work on at a higher level or why is it stuck on low?

    1 Answer
    • A: To correctly Operate the Noma Self Sanitizing Humidifier, 1) Unplug the machine so the controls reset operation of the Humidifier. 2) Make sure the humidifier is on a flat surface. 3) Remove the base from the tank by lifting the tank off the base and locate the filter. Make sure the filter is firmly secure to the heating element on the underside of the tank. Loose fitting filter may cause less humidity or cause malfunction. 4) Replace the tank on the base and plug in the power cord which will reset the humidifier 5) Fill cool water into the tank until the water level indicator turns green. There will be a flashing orange light with a beeping sound to guide you until the tank is properly filled and the light turns green. 6) Touch the power button once and the humidifier will turn on and default to the low setting 7) To adjust to low or high setting on your humidifier touch and set the speed button and the digital display will show (Lo) or (HI). The speed Key back-lighting will display bright for Hi setting -dim for low setting. 8) Follow the manual for correct operation and control panel information
