    Annoying hum

Simple to install, a small light duty fan. Unit has an irritating hum which is absent on any other fan in the house. Lighting unit would be of benefit if you have an elderly cat.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Quiet, easy to install

The fan is OK overall. I installed it in our new house to give some cooling in the master bedroom and it works fairly well for us in there. I originally thought that 42" was not going to be large enough for our master bedroom, but with it being positioned near the foot of our bed it actually keeps up nice and cool at night. It was easy to install, works well to cool off a small-medium room, is quiet when it runs (presuming you've installed it correctly and fastened it tightly). Probably will want a larger fan for a larger family/living room, but it works well for bedrooms. Haven't noticed that it pulls to any side when turn on the light, and we have full function of all fan speeds, unlike other reviews have stated. I suspect that the wobbling just means that it needs to be secured better to the ceiling, or perhaps has some bolts/nuts loose. The chains on the globe did bother me initially as well, as I could just foresee them rattling against the glass the faster the fan went, but after installation, they have never made a sound. Regarding the missing fan speed from the other review, I suspect you either got a bad motor with the fan, or perhaps it's just not wired correctly? Just an amateur's speculation though, so take it with a grain of salt. The biggest downside for me was that it uses a single candelabra bulb for the lighting, and a standard "flame" bulb doesn't fit in the frost glass globe. Couldn't find an LED bulb which fit actually from CT. I was lucky enough to find an LED bulb in a different store which does fit and is the 60W equivalent, but I would still have preferred my primary light in that room to be brighter. Also ended up being cheaper than what I had originally bought at CT for the fan. The quality of the materials isn't the highest quality I've seen, but I'm sure it will do us just fine for a number of years to come. In the end, I probably won't buy this particular one again, but only because of the type of bulb that it takes. But I also know that I'm very particular when it comes to lighting, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's bright enough for most people.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Quality and design not great

This fan replaced a ceiling fan we had used for at least 15 years. Immediately we noticed the quality was not as good, the whole unit pulls to one side when pulling on the light or fan chain. It feels very wobbly. Also, the way the light cover is designed interferes with the hang of the chains, which ultimately makes an annoying noise that rattles. We took off the schoolhouse light cover to fix and now it looks lousy. The bulb in the light is a very small chandelier bulb with a tiny threaded base. Now we are on the hunt for a brighter bulb (with ofcourse, a teeny base). Overall, I would never purchase this type of design again ie. Chains hanging to the sides (and in contact with) the light fixture. Not sure why they thought this was a good idea. Now, we are looking for a fan to replace this fan. Not amused.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    NOMA 42" fan

This is a nice-looking fan that is very quiet. Relatively easy to install as well. I bought an LED E12 (chandelier) lightbulb for this and it was too long for the glass that comes with it. I wanted the brightest light I could get. Perhaps there is a round-shaped 60-watt LED E12 lightbulb out there that would be better. Just beware that a "flame" shaped LED might not fit.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
