Tree lights are poor quality

I bought this Noma tree from Canadian Tire last year after Christmas and I put it up this year and the B section all lights are burned out!!! I don’t think I even have enough replacement bulbs to replace all the burned out ones!!! Poor quality!!! I guess I should have taken it out of the box and plugged it in last year after I bought it to make sure it worked (which would have been a pain) For the price of this tree you think it would work!!! I can’t even take it back because it was bought last year!

Lights suck

Used for 2 Christmases and all the lights are burnt. Even on the one strand where the lights still work, lights are burnt. So how are we to tell whats working and what's not.
