Great NOMA A/C replacement kit

This is an upgraded replacement kit for my NOMA A/C unit. The foam is sticky on one side, they included a tab to hold the panels, the hose attachment at both ends fits way better and actually swivels making this a far better installation experience...absolutely did not expect these upgrades got the kit for just one piece and ended up using it all. Fantastic!

Q: My rental unit window frames are not wood. How can I secure the sash window over the window kit? Is there a sash lock that’s compatible with portable ac window kits?

Q: Can the window be closed when the kit is in place? Is there a "plug" for the hole? We want to move the AC unit between two rooms but don't want a hole to the outside in whichever room doesn't have the unit attached.

  • A: The panel kit with the hole can easily be removed, and the window closed. You can easily swap the panel kit between the two locations. There is no "hole cover" that I am aware of, but that doesnt mean one doesn't exist. Cheers.

Q: I have NOMA model 04307560. I already have this pipe installed and attached to the window but the AC is very close to the window and I’d like to bring it farther. Is it possible to buy a second pipe/tube thing &  attach it to extend the tube even further?

  • A: Yes but you will have to search- there are longer hoses available but not easy to find the correct one. Not sure why they are not readily available. If you have a high window, the hoses that come with the units are all too short. I made a stool for ours until I found a longer hose. Sometimes a connector can be found so you can join 2. I prefer a single longer hose

Q: We need to install our Noma air conditioner in a sliding patio door instead of a window, but our window panel is not high enough and needs an extra 2 feet of height for the door. Can we attach the panels in this accessory to our panels to fill the gap?

  • A: I bought it for the same reason and the pieces are not the same width so you get a gap between the door and the original pieces

  • A: As long as the receiver is 152.4mm/6in, you are good. It is a versatile kit fitting the vast majority of units out there. When cutting your window adapter, allowing some overlap, for a better seal. And make sure if you have double sliding windows to open inside and outside on the bottom. My roommate forgot to last year and it pumped all of the hot air back into the window frame and into the house.
