Good quality lights and electrical cord. Be aware it provides very low lighting. Charging power only about 5 hours so far.

Q: What is the “mode” button for? How do I know if the lights are charging?

A: The mode button will give you either 'on' at dusk, or flashing or another wave like effect. You don't know if the batteries are charging. I've had trouble with mine, my neighbours work fine.

Q: How can you tell if the power button is in the on or off position? What else can you check if replacing the batteries does not solve the problem?

Q: Do the lights charge in the “off” position or do they need to be “on” in order to charge during the day?

A: The solar panel will charge up and hold a charge even when the lights are in the off position.

Q: Where is the solar charger in relevance to the string? Could I put these around a leafy tree or would the leaves create too much shade for the lights to charge?

A: There is quite a long wire to the charger. I don't think it will charge well if it is hidden in leaves, though. On cloudy days, even, the lights may not get a full charge. Sun is better than shade.

A: These string lights are rated for outdoor use, however it is recommended that these lights are brought in during the winter or during extreme cold weather to preserve the life of the product and to protect against battery damage.
