DO NOT BUY ! Internal battery dying

Bought the timer at Christmas 2023. A year later when I went to use it again at Christmas, the timer display is half as bright and the "auto" feature to turn the lights on and off at the specified times isn't working. As this is whole point of having a timer, I am now forced to throw the timer away as I cannot replace the HUB (i.e. the hold up battery, which is inside the sealed unit, doesn't seem to recharge when plugged into an AC power source, rendering the entire unit non-functional).
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Lost my instructions for my Noma model ET525C outdoor timer. I thought I figured it out but power just stays on. I have no idea what the "CD" & "RMD" buttons are for. They seem to do nothing.

A: On the new model "CD" stands for countdown timer. You set a start time and then it counts down to off time (say 6 hours) "RND" activates the random on/off feature

Q: Instruction states to mount at least 4.5 feet above ground. How important is this? It will be mounted 2 feet above ground.

A: I believe this measurement is a slightly exaggerated distance I’m sure to ensure that the unit will not be covered in snow or possibly sit in water. It is not that well sealed. Mine is approximately 2 feet as well and I just make sure to keep it clear if the snow piles up. Working fine still for me.

Q: How do you replace the battery backup.?

A: No access with conventional screw drivers. 3 yrs ago mine went dead after being unplugged for almost a year. I plugged it back in & it charged back up. Since then I have kept it plugged into a power bar. Recently I lost power to it for a week & it still maintained the program cycles!

A: 1875 is the maximum wattage but it is recommended to never exceed 80% of capacity , so 1500 watts should not be exceeded.
