Good solid basic lamp

Easy to assemble and good solid construction. Lightbulb included, which is a nice feature and saves the cost of buying one. The bulbs are the kind with 2 prongs, not the screw-in type. The switch is a foot pedal, located on the cord. So this may affect where you can put the lamp. There is no switch on any other part of the lamp. Glass shade rather than plastic.

I went to the store to purchase a different floor lamp, but after comparing them I decided to get this one instead. The box was heavier than the other similar lamps, which is an indication of its sturdiness. It was easy to assemble, and looks great in our family room -- especially because it matches perfectly with our "Milano" series light fixtures (also from Canadian Tire).

Q: Can the NOMA Energy Star Harmony Torchiere Floor lamp accomodate a GU24 bulb higher than the 23W bulb that's included? Followup question: What is the maximum wattage that is available in GU24 bulbs?

A: The sticker on the lamp says to not use a bulb higher than 23w or it could be a safety hazard.

A: The switch is a foot pedal located on the cord. There is no switch on any other part of the lamp.

A: No, you can't because it takes the kind of bulbs that have metal prongs, not the traditional screw-in type.
