It does exactly what it says it does

If you are thinking to put it under the kitchen cabinet, I wouldn't recommend doing that. But what you can really do - is to light your computer desk, back of your monitor, gaming pc case, may be a kid's room. Build quality is as good as you would expect from inexpensive "toy" made in China. All-plastic, connectors are quite weak. Adhesive is included. It also comes with 10 cable management connectors which is good if you are still considering putting under-something.

A: unit is designed to connect to it's power supplies that are either plugged into Outlet (120V) or hardwired to 120VAC Cct.

A: The RGBW puck light can be connected up to 5 units. However, our kit comes with a 20” jumper cable connector. We are not sure which 36” jumper cable you are referring to.
