The heater definately heats a room but is very noisy - sort of a whining sound. If it is for an active room, no problem, but for a bedroom look for something else.

Q: Does it turn off when reaching the desired temp? i tried this heater for 5 hours but it was never turned off automatically, is that normal?

A: It has a thermostat knob and in my experience, it will run continuously until it reaches your setting and then will cycle on and off to maintain that setting. You have to experiment to find out how a setting will translate into your room temperature - it's not that precise but it did work as expected.

A: No, there is no fan on this heater, so it is completely silent when operating. The hot air rises through convection and circulates throughout the room.

Q: heard new heaters are more effecient? More effecient than what & by how much? Have old baseboards that are between 35-55 yrs old. Want to know if new baseboards would make a significant difference?

A: The new baseboards are between 30% to 40% more efficient vs older baseboards. It is hard to have an exact number as each models performed differently. The reasons for the improve efficiency is because of our innovative design with top heat discharge vs front discharge and our shark fines create a funnel effect allowing the heat to rise directly into the room.
