Bought these and had them in storage waiting for outside renos to open the boxes (my mistake). Description says black. Boxes say black. The actual base is oil rubbed bronze. Now trying to make it work for the black trim I’m painted and door bell I bought. Beautiful light though.

I have had this light up in the front of my house for a year now and I love it,Its huge and looks really nice. Because it uses 2 smaller size bulbs and the glass is so large there is not a lot of heat inside the glass so the bulbs last a long time.I have had the same 2 60 watt noma light bulbs in for about 8 months after the GE ones only lasted 4.I have the light on for about 10 hours every night too.

Q: For those that have got this Astoria downlight installed and working, what bulb type/brand did you use? I don't fully understand the bulb description listed on the website.

A: Consumer should use a 60w max candelabra bulb with this fixture. 2 bulbs are required. Canadian Tire 0525612.

Q: how can I change the bulbs?

A: Install the proper bulb type and wattage (not included). Insert the stem onto the fixture. Secure the glass in place by threading the cap and finial onto the stem until it is snug.

Q: The product says "matte black finish" but the ones I have look a little more brown is there another style or is this the only one?

A: Both Astoria items 052-4000 and 052-4095 are oil rubbed bronze. In 2014 we changed the description from matte black finish to oil rubbed bronze finish on the Home Collections packaging. Perhaps you have purchased a package that predates the change to oil rubbed bronze finish in the description. The Astoria collection is available in one finish only.
