    Defective product

    The product was faulty. I connected the Noma solar panel to my battery, which was reading 12.7 volts, so I know the battery was in good working condition. However, the charge controller continuously displayed a “Fault” message. As a result, I am returning the unit and will be purchasing another one. I have always liked the Noma brand and hope this was simply a defective product.

    Charge controller is cheap

    Bought this for a good price and it’s hooked up to an electric fence and deep cycle 12v battery. Ran the fence on the battery for a week with no solar then hooked it up. Initially it showed the yellow light indicating it was charging on the charge controller but also showed a solid red light indicating a fault with the green light not lit indicating it’s not charged. Owners Manual indicates if light is blinking red there’s a fault but mentions absolutely nothing of a solid red light. Gave it a week with the solar panel hooked up to the battery and the green light eventually came on indicating battery is charged and yellow light turned off but the fault solid red light stayed on but no blinking. At this point I believe the solar panel is working but the charge controller constantly has a solid red light which says nothing about that in the owners manual. The yellow light turned off when it wasn’t charging anymore and the green light turned on when it was charged so the lights are working. Don’t like how the fault solid red light stays on. Charge controller is obviously cheap and is very annoying that it stays on and it says nothing about that in the manual. Multiple reviews say the same thing about the fault light. Dont like how the company never responded to the question I posted either. At least the solar panel and charge controller are working and got it for a good price but the headache of figuring this out I give it 2 stars

    I have returned 2 of these, the controller keeps showing a fault, polarity checker provided in kit indicates all is hooked up correctly, will try again

    Needed to charge batteries the thing in between the panels and the battery shows a fault can't figure it out NOT HAPPY AT ALL would not recommend this panel

    Q: I’m getting a solid red light on the charge controller brand new out of the box. In the owners manual it says if the red light is blinking it’s a fault but doesn’t say anything regarding a solid red light. Anyone know what a solid red light means?

    • A: I have the same one. Solid light means it is working. If you flip the leads it will start blinking
