2nd season and not cooling

We purchased May 2015, used until Sept 2015. Stored it as per the instructions, but the cooling not working when we tried to use it this year.

I bought this after my very very old portable died during the heat wave this summer. It's much quieter than my previous one but still makes a fair amount of noise; it is blowing a lot of air after all. Installed it myself and only took 10 min. I did not bother with the rain guard or anything like that. You only need the tube and door guard and you're good to go. Cools my little 600sq ft apt very quickly. Very happy with this purchase!

Q: not cooling We set it to 18 and it changes to 29C a few seconds later. Its been on 4 hrs and doesn't seem to be getting cooler. We have mode set to cool, and the fan on high. We have all the windows and doors closed. We live in a 550 sq. ft. condo.

A: I'll answer my own question. We have found a solution. It was defective, returned it to the store and exchanged it. The manager, Gary, was very helpful at the Cambie outlet in Vancouver. Thanks

Q: how long is the hose from my floor to the window I would need at least up to 6'. does this make the unit work harder or is 6' to much for this unit to work proper

A: The hose is 59 inches long. Using a longer hose would have a negative impact on the unit's efficiency.
